Cloud&Lava
❓ How to Play
You'll only need your mouse for about 90% of the game. The remaining 10% uses the Spacebar, which lets you split the selected cloud once it has grown large enough.
❗Main Objective
Control the CLOUDS and BEAT LAVA'S ASS to earn the highest score possible!
Your final score depends on two things:
👉 How quickly you defeat all the lava.
👉 Your combo count while damaging the lava. The higher your combo, the more points you'll earn.
❗❗Be careful—your combo will only be lost if you let the lava regenerate its health.
🥺 Controls
Left Click – Select a cloud, move it, or interact with objects.
Hold the Left Mouse Button, then drag – Select multiple clouds.
Right Click – Deselect the selected cloud(s).
Hold the Right Mouse Button, then drag, or move the mouse to the edge of the screen – Move the camera.
Mouse Wheel – Zoom in and out.
Spacebar – Split the selected cloud when it is large enough.

This is my first game jam!
I spent the first 3 days figuring out the game's theme. Total 7 days developing the game.
On the first day of game jam, I asked my friends what kind of game I could make based on the theme "High Score Tracer." One person suggested an endless runner, while another suggested a lawn-mowing game focused on chasing a high score. I ended up going with the lawn-mowing idea.
However, I knew that someone had already made a 2D side-scrolling lawn-mowing game. I didn't want to make something too similar, so I decided to make it a top-down game instead. As I kept working on it, though, I wasn't happy with how it was turning out. On top of that, I couldn't figure out how to make mowing the lawn actually feel fun and unique. Then, two days had passed. On the third day, I decided to scrap everything and start over. Why not?
Looking back, I honestly can't remember how it eventually turned into a story about clouds and lava. I think it all started with the lawn-mowing game. Why was there lava in the first place? I think I had the idea that lava could be used to burn the grass, and that's probably how it ended up becoming part of the game. From that point on, lava became one of the core elements of the game. After that, I just kept building the game while making things up as I went.
I don't know if you've ever played Age of Empires II, but I've always liked how you can click on a unit and command it to move or perform different actions. I wanted to use that same point-and-click style of control as the core gameplay mechanic for this game.
